5 things to know about Bryan Idowu, Super Eagles debutant hero

Tonight the sky is green, there is plenty of celebration in the air - for the Super Eagles have made Nigerians from all walks of life proud.

It is not everyday that Nigeria get to beat a top team like Argentina. However, while Nigerians might be celebrating, a young Nigerian made his debut for Nigeria and yes, he got on the scoresheet, in a night he will always remember, that Nigerian is Bryan Idowu - the debutant hero.
Here are five things you should know about him:
1. Idowu was born and raised in St. Petersburg but spent a few years between the ages of three and six in Owerri, Nigeria. His father is Nigerian while his mother is half Russian, half-Nigerian.

2. He made his debut against Argentina on November 14, coming on as a half-time substitute for Ola Aina, and scoring Nigeria's third goal in a 4-2 win.

3. His goal against Argentina is his fifth goal in his professional career.
4. Bryan plays as a fullback, though he is very versatile in play and energetic.

5. Idowu made his Russian Premier League debut for FC Amkar Perm on May 6, 2012 in a game against FC Terek Grozny.
